Refitting

Position the vehicle on a lift.

Raise the vehicle.

1. Release the gear engagement and selection flexible rods from the fastening clip on the suspension frame.

Release the rubber buffer in the housing in the vehicle floor.

2. Release the gear engagement and selection flexible rods and remove them.

Removing

- Position the gear engagement and selection flexible rods.

- Fit the rubber buffer in the housing in the vehicle floor.

- Secure the gear engagement and selection flexible rods to the fastening clip on the suspension frame.

- Lower the vehicle.

- Connect the ends of the gear engagement and selection flexible rods and secure the retaining clips.

- Connect the ends of the gear engagement and selection rods.

- Secure the gear engagement and selection rods using the special fastening clips.

1. Prepare the quick adjuster device located on the gear selection cable by pulling the component (1a) backwards and lowering the spring (1b); release the component (1a) to keep the spring (1b) in position.

1. Operate the gear lever and ensure that the device (2a) slides on the terminal (2b).

1. Place the gear lever in neutral, fit adjustment tool (1a) and insert between the detent of reverse inhibition sleeve(1b) and support barrier (1c) from the 8.5 mm side. Lock the gear lever against the tool to maintain the preset distance.

Use the adjustment tool from the 8.5 mm thick side.

- Release the quick adjuster.

- Remove the tool and release the gear lever.

- Check for binding by engaging 5th gear.

If binding is present, repeat the adjustment.
